Colors’ Roop changes its ‘effeminate’ storyline to ‘ghar jamai’

MUMBAI: It was only a while back that business degree reported that Colors’ show Roop produced by Rashmi Sharma Telefilms is going to take a leap.

An insider also passed information to us that new characters will be introduced in the show and prominent TV faces in the likes of Shashank Vyas, Shivin Narang and Shardul Pandit are being considered for the role.

However, actors blatantly refused to be a part of the show as the character is effeminate.

Now the latest development coming in is that the leap will take place in the second week of July. Also, the makers have changed the storyline given the bleak chances of any TV face taking up the challenge of playing this out-and-out character.

According to our credible sources, post the story jump, the show will change the base plot completely.

“Roop will see the titular character in a love triangle. He will grow up to settle down as a ‘ghar jamai’. Roop will be loosely based on the lines of the Bollywood film Ki & Ka starring Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor. Unlike his father, he would not have an air about himself. He will be open-minded about the social taboos,” confirmed the source.
